On March 2 in Orlando, Florida, Alan Belcher and former UFC champion Junior dos Santos will square off for the heavyweight championship of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bare-Knuckle MMA company.
Masvidal revealed the combination on Tuesday.
Belcher, who defeated Roy Nelson in a split decision in his promotional debut, is back in Gamebred for the second time. Belcher had a stellar 4-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing under the BKFC banner before switching to bare-knuckle MMA. He also held the heavyweight title there until it was revoked, at which point he quit the organization.
After serving as a 15-time UFC veteran, Belcher retired in 2015 and then returned five years later to compete in bare-knuckle fighting. In July of last year, he emerged victorious in a boxing bout against social media influencer Chase DeMoor.
Dos Santos, on the other hand, makes his second appearance for Gamebred after defeating Fabricio Werdum in a split decision in September of last year. Following that, Dos Santos pledged to remain in bare-knuckle MMA for the foreseeable future.
When Dos Santos squares off against Belcher in a bare-knuckle mixed martial arts match in March, he will try to add yet another title to his record.
