Damontae Kazee received a severe penalty from the NFL.
Due to multiple infractions of needless roughness, the Pittsburgh Steelers safety was suspended for the remainder of the regular season and any prospective postseason games.
This was inspired by Michael Pittman Jr. of the Indianapolis Colts, who was placed in concussion protocol as a result of Kazee’s hard hit on Pittman. Kazee was taken out of the match.
Tom Brady, the legendary player for the Patriots, shared his thoughts on social media following the news on Monday.
“It’s not nice to watch athletes suffer injuries,” Brady posted on Instagram. However, severe blows do occur. Quarterbacks shouldn’t pass the ball in situations where doing so exposes their teammates to hits of this nature. Better coaching is required from coaches, quarterbacks who can read coverages and place the ball in the appropriate spots, and defenders who target the right hitting locations. It just doesn’t work to constantly assign responsibility to the defense player. Better quarterback play is required! QBs, it is not acceptable for your wide receivers to be struck due to poor decision-making.”
Gardner Minshew of the Colts forced Pittman to dive to try and make the catch with his throw.
Brady is blaming his teammates quarterbacks for failing to protect the receivers and make the necessary throws to prevent injuries as a result.
Bailey Zappe’s remark on WEEI’s Jones and Mego show, although it was unconnected, confirmed Brady’s views regarding the quarterback’s accountability.
Zappe stated, “As quarterbacks, that’s on us.” “We’re the guys who control where the ball goes.”
Although Kazee has already received fines for needless violence on a few occasions this season, the league had finally had enough.
