Detroit Lions top player Cameron Sutton is missing after a domestic violence warrant was issued.
Authorities in Florida are asking for the public’s assistance in finding Detroit Lions Cornerback Cameron Sutton, who they have not been able to locate since issuing an arrest warrant for him two weeks ago. On March 7, police attended to a house in Lutz, Florida, in response to reports of an attack on a lady.
Sutton, 29, is sought on a charge of strangling someone at home, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. He was previously listed as sought by the office on a domestic abuse/aggravated battery offense.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told ESPN that early on March 7, authorities were called to a home in Lutz, Florida, where Sutton was accused of assaulting a lady before running away.
When responding police got at the site, the woman had many injuries on her body, the sheriff’s office informed the source.
Police informed Local 4 and ESPN that they quickly obtained an arrest warrant for Sutton, but he has reportedly been eluding them.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told MLive, “He’s been ducking us.” “All leads have been pursued by our deputies. He owns homes and cars in the area, but he hasn’t been there. He has put his phone away.
Several publications report that the Detroit Lions organization stated in a statement that they are monitoring the issue.
They stated in the statement on Wednesday, “We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning,” as reported by the Associated Press.
After six NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who picked him in the 2017 draft, Sutton joined the Lions last summer, per ESPN.
