The news of Dorsey’s passing hit close to home for many. Longtime friend Michael Holloway, who worked with Dorsey for the past 20 years, expressed his grief: “Just at a loss for words thinking about my brother,” Holloway told the Florida Times-Union. He went on to highlight Dorsey’s positive impact, stating, “He’s had an impact on so many kids that have had the opportunity to make it to the next level.”

Dorsey’s football journey began at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, where he earned all-state honors. He continued his success at Florida State University, playing a crucial role in their undefeated national championship team in 1999 and receiving All-ACC accolades.
NFL Career Cut Short by Injury
The Jacksonville native was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft. Briefly on the Cowboys’ roster, he was later selected by the Houston Texans (then an expansion team) in 2002. Unfortunately, Dorsey’s NFL career was cut short by a knee injury in 2003.
