NASCAR has suspended two pit crew members from the teams of Kyle Busch and Chase Briscoe. Each driver lost a tire during the Cup Series race at Las Vegas over the weekend.
NASCAR has suspended two pit crew members from the teams of Kyle Busch and Chase Briscoe. Each driver lost a tire during the Cup Series race at Las Vegas over the weekend.
After losing the wheel, Busch and his No. 8 car were sent to the garage for repairs. With the incident, NASCAR handed him a two-lap penalty.
For Briscoe, meanwhile, the mistake occurred during the first green flag pit stops of the day. It was a busy pit cycle, with speeding penalties that sent drivers to the back of the field.
In fact, Busch was one of the drivers that was caught up by the NASCAR caution that came out after Briscoe lost his wheel. He sped on pit road, incurring a penalty.
He was not happy about it either. Over the radio he talked about his lights and it was clear that he felt he did what he had to in order to abide by pit road speed. NASCAR felt differently.
