DEATH NEWS a former Denver broncos legend John Albert Elway Jr. have just pass away in a plane crash…..
Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway will donate $2,000 from his radio show to a scholarship fund in memory of three Melba, Idaho, residents killed in Sunday’s DC-9 crash at Stapleton International Airport.
The money will come out of Elway’s $500 weekly fee for the next four weeks for his show on KNUS radio in Denver.
In the past he has donated the money to various Denver-area charities.
The money will go into a scholarship fund for the Future Farmers of America chapter in Melba.
Among the fatalities in the crash were three from Melba: students Janine Ledgerwood, 17, and Sherry Nelson, 18, and Tammy Daniel, 27, the wife of FFA adviser and high school teacher David Daniel. Seven other Melba residents were on the plane.
Elway met Wednesday with Jerry Tlucek, whose daughter, Angela, suffered a serious head injury and burns on her face and arms.
‘I thanked him very much,’ Tlucek said. ‘I just think it’s a wonderful gesture on his part. This is what America is all about.
‘We’re just a small farming community. We fight like brothers and sisters. This crash has brought the community together.’
