Bruce Springsteen has quietly released “Blind Spot,” the first single from Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a seven‑LP anthology arriving June 27 via Sony Music. The song comes from the Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, a fully mixed ten‑song record Springsteen completed in 1995 but set aside when he chose to reunite with the E Street Band.
Far from the guitar‑driven rock of Born in the U.S.A., these sessions lean on drum loops and synth textures inspired by mid‑’90s West Coast hip‑hop. Springsteen and engineer Toby Scott spent months building original loop banks from CD samples; Springsteen performed nearly every instrument himself while Patti Scialfa, Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell and members of his 1992–93 touring band added key flourishes.

Springsteen describes “Blind Spot” as an exploration of doubt and betrayal in relationships: “That was just the theme that I locked in on at that moment,” he said in a press release. “I had ‘Blind Spot,’ and I followed that thread through the rest of the record”. Though the Streets of Philadelphia Sessions was fully mixed and slated for a spring 1995 release, he shelved it to focus on his band: “I said, ‘Well, maybe it’s time to just do something with the band, or remind the fans of the band or that part of my work life,’” he added. “I always put them away, but I don’t throw them away”.
Completed during the COVID‑19 lockdown, Tracks II follows Springsteen’s original Tracks compilation from 1998 and packages each “lost album” in deluxe 9‑LP, 7‑CD and digital editions, accompanied by bespoke artwork and a 100‑page cloth‑bound photo book with liner notes by archivist Erik Flannigan. A condensed 20‑track sampler, Lost and Found: Selections from The Lost Albums, also arrives June 27.
Spanning sessions recorded between 1983 and 2018, Tracks II collects 83 songs—74 of them never before released—covering everything from the lo‑fi explorations of LA Garage Sessions ’83 to the cinematic soundscapes of Inyo.
