Notre Dame football putting all its chips on the table for Georgia flip target

One Georgia commit seems to be looking elsewhere and the Notre Dame football program would like to be the victors of this race.

Zech Fort has only been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for a month. Maybe that’s why the Notre Dame football team, and a whole host of other college football programs are so high on trying to flip him from the SEC power.

The Irish are right there in the mix, and it looks like they are one of five teams that could loosen Georgia’s grip on the defensive back prospect. Fort is the No. 127 recruit from the class of 2026, the No. 10 safety, and the No. 19 recruit from Florida, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He currently plays for IMG Academy in Long Beach (CA.) and is a four-star prospect.

Now that the Notre Dame football target appears to already be weakening on his resolve to stick with the Georgia Bullddogs, the Irish are trying to come up with the best eway to really drive a wedge in between the prospect and the SEC power.

“So many schools are recruiting me even harder now than they were before I committed,” Fort told On3 according to Sports Illustrated. “Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, USC, and some others are recruiting me hard right now.”

“A lot of schools are coming hard and haven’t stopped talking to me, so I am just enjoying the process,” Fort said. “I still feel good about Georgia.

And while he clearly likes the Bulldogs, his other comments make it clear that there may be a way for Notre Dame football to get its foot in the door. The next step will be getting him on campus and after that, anything can happen.
