During the South Point 400 race, Larson attempted a three-wide pass and was squeezed by Wallace, forcing his car into the wall. Wallace then allegedly intentionally spun Larson, sending his car into the wall.
The Suspension:
NASCAR deemed Wallace’s actions a violation of its Member Code of Conduct, specifically for intentionally wrecking or spinning another vehicle. The suspension was for the next Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
NASCAR’s Statement:
NASCAR officials stated that Wallace’s actions were considered a dangerous and deliberate act of retaliation, even though Wallace also had a shoving match with Larson after the incident.
Bubba Wallace has been suspended from the next NASCAR Cup Series Championship event after shoving Kyle Larson following a crash over the weekend, NASCAR announced Tuesday. The crash and fight occurred Sunday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
According to NASCAR, the crash and shoving violated Sections 4.3.A and 4.4.C and E of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct in the company’s rule book. “Rule 4.4.C lists ‘intentionally wrecking or spinning another vehicle, whether or not that vehicle is removed from Competition as a result’ as one of five member actions that could result in a penalty,” NASCAR.com reported.
