Keon began his NHL journey with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1960 and quickly made his mark with his impressive skating, defensive skills, and scoring ability. In his rookie year, he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s top rookie.
Over the next decade, he became a key player for the Leafs, leading them to four Stanley Cup victories in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967. His standout performance in the 1967 playoffs earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player.
